Position: Intermediate Architectural Technologist

Are you creative, driven, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment? We are looking to expand our team with an Intermediate Architectural Technologist.

Studioen is a boutique interior design firm, which allows our team of talented and passionate professionals to provide a high level of customer service and involvement throughout every project. Our expertise is commercial design with a strong focus on corporate offices and retail. Our projects span across the prairie provinces and include industrial, hospitality, medical clinics and residential.

We are seeking an Intermediate Architectural Technologist to be involved with the design, drafting and management of a wide range of projects. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to immerse themselves in a learning environment, gaining experience and exposure to all aspects of the design and construction processes. You will be involved in projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

Ability to produce technical drawings, in collaboration with our design team.
Technical overview and coordination of construction drawings and building permit submissions.
Knowledge and understanding of the building code and implementation of code requirements.
Ability to assist with smooth workflow and reviewing progress relative to overall project schedule.
Provide design and technical input with the design team, including hand sketches, CAD or BIM.
Generate 3D material to be used for presentation purposes.
Communicate and work collaboratively with engineering consultants.
Reviewing consultant drawings and designs and understanding coordination items.
Organize and create project specifications.
Administer contracts and project certifications, alongside other contract administration duties.
Periodic site review of projects during construction.
Regularly communicate with general contractors, and sub-trades.

Qualifications & Skills

Diploma in Architectural Technology from accredited post-secondary institution.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an architecture/interior design office.
Strong abilities in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Bonus points if you are familiar with Lumion, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft 365.
Experience with base building renovations, tenant improvements, and new fit-ups.
Strong communication skills (written and oral).
Confident, efficient, collaborative, and organized.
Proactive + strong attention to detail.
Willingness to ask questions and not make assumptions.
